Born in 1980 in Louiseville, United States, Brad Downey lives and works in Berlin.
From the point of departure of the individual in public space, Downey’s work intervenes in urban furniture and city planning. Throughout a stroll, the artist spontaneously and ephemeral sculpts his environment. By moving or rearranging street objects, he removes their initial meaning to make them absurd. A key figure in street art, Downey is also the co-director of the film “Public Discourse!” which demonstrates the variety of artistic interventions in the New York public space.
