The Wa / A Kid Could Do It / 2022
[EN] In 2021, The Wa begins his series "A kid could do it" on the bunkers of the Atlantic Wall, built by the German army during the Second World War.
With the complicity of his mother, he undertook to completely repaint some of these buildings in white then to draw on them with spray paint, like a child.
In May 2022, TCHIKEBE invites The Wa to Marseille to produce an edition based on the photographs taken by the artist during his actions, on which he draws with colored pencil, thus creating an unprecedented series of monotypes, produced each in 10 unique copies.
[FR] En 2021, The Wa commence sa série « A kid could do it » sur les bunkers du Mur de l’Atlantique, construits par l’armée allemande durant la seconde guerre mondiale.
Avec la complicité de sa mère, il entreprend de repeindre intégralement en blanc certains de ces édifices puis de dessiner dessus à la bombe à peinture, à la manière d’un enfant.
En Mai 2022, TCHIKEBE invite The Wa à Marseille afin de produire une édition basée sur les photographies prises par l’artiste durant ses actions, qu’il vient rehausser à la main au crayon de couleur, créant ainsi une série inédite de monotypes, produits chacun en 10 exemplaires uniques.
